UAE sets out new conditions for family iqama

At least 3,000 dirhams of monthly income must be shown

United Arab Emirates has issued new conditions for family iqama including minimum stay and monthly income requirements.

The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship has announced new regulations regarding the issuance of Iqama for family members of foreigners residing in the Emirates.

To qualify for family residence, a minimum monthly income of at least 3,000 dirhams, along with proof of residence, must be provided.

Family members who are 18 years old or older must undergo a medical examination at approved medical facilities in order to obtain a family Iqama.

If the relatives of an Iqama holder are already living in the emirate on a temporary entry visa, they have the option to convert their visitor visa to an Iqama, according to the authorities.

The conversion process to obtain an Iqama must be completed within 60 days of arrival in the UAE.

Applicants can also apply for an Iqama through the “e-channels” system or the official authority website, as stated in the announcement.
