First look: The US stadium that will host the Ind vs Pak world cup clash
The T20 world cup 2024 is rapidly drawing closer and preparations for the tournament are entering the final stages. The preparations needed to be massive, as the tournament is being held for the first time in the United States.
One of the most high profile venues in the tournament is the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York which will host eight matches in the world cup.
One of these games will feature the biggest clash in the entire sport, Pakistan vs India. The game will take place on June 9.
The stadium is situated in Eisenhower Park which is around 30 kilomotres away from Manhattan.
The official account of the T20 world cup on X recently announced that the ground is ‘near completion’.
The state-of-the-art modular stadium will have the capacity to seat a total of 34,000 fans. The stadium will also feature a number of hospitality opportunities.
According to latest details, the east side stand is nearing completion while the west side stand will be completed in the next two weeks.
The north an south sides of the stadium will feature premium hospitality suites, team and media pavilions. These parts of the stadiums are receiving final touches.
Meanwhile, the pitch block that the games will be played on are currently maturing at another location in South Florida.
“What has been accomplished in just two short months of construction in Nassau County is truly unprecedented and as we mark the 60 days to go, we’re excited to welcome cricket fans from all over the world to this first-of-its-kind international cricket venue,” T20 USA CEO Brett Jones recently said.
