Four armed robbers raided an Edhi Centre in Sohrab Goth on Friday and fled with Rs6.5 million in cash that had been brought from a bank to pay the salaries of more than 200 employees.

According to Edhi spokesperson Mohammad Amin, the robbers, wearing helmets and concealing their faces, entered the centre when staff arrived with the cash and held employees hostage before fleeing with the money.

Police were informed of the robbery and have launched an investigation.

CCTV footage obtained by Aaj News showed four armed men carrying out the robbery. The suspects could be seen with their faces covered.

Police are reviewing the footage to identify and arrest the suspects.

Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar took notice of the incident and directed authorities to intensify efforts to apprehend the robbers.
