From now on call England white-ball skipper ‘Josh Buttler’
It’s Josh Buttler, not Jos Buttler, the England cricket team’s white-ball captain has said as he changed his first name to ‘fix the problem’ faced over the years.
“After 13 years representing my country and two World Cup wins, it’s time to finally fix the problem. To solve the problem once and for all, I am officially Josh Buttler,” he said in a video shared by the England and Wales Cricket Board on social media.
Previously, his first name did not have an “h” in his name but people did not consider that and called him by the wrong name.
The wicketkeeper-batter said that over the last three years, he has been correcting people about his first name.
“I’m England white ball captain Jos Buttler,” he started the video by saying this but continued that he has been called by the wrong name from people on the street to his mother, and in the birthday card.
“Dear Josh, you’re getting old. Happy birthday. Lots of love, Mum. Even my MBE was wrong,” he said and ended the video with his changed name.
