Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandpur has announced his decision to provide free Wi-Fi facilities in the public parks as he ordered his team to finalise the matters related to the free internet facility.

While presiding over a meeting, he added that the facility would also be expanded to other cities.

The government also decided to start the BRT service on the Nasir Bagh Road and asked the Peshawar Development Authority to come up with a comprehensive plan.

In 2021, the UN Human Rights Council adopted a resolution on ‘the promotion, protection and enjoyment of human rights on the Internet’. The resolution builds on and consolidates international human rights standards related to the theme, with language on issues including Internet access, shutdowns and online censorship, net neutrality, and encryption.
