PTI seeks permission for rally in Islamabad on eve of Pakistan Day
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has sought permission for a rally in Islamabad on the eve of Pakistan Day, March 23, or March 30.
PTI’s regional president Amir Masood Mughal submitted the application to the district magistrate on Monday. The former ruling party wants to hold the rally in one of these three places: D-Chowk, F-9 Park or Parade Ground.
Pakistan Day commemorates the passing of the Lahore Resolution on March 23, 1940, when the All-India Muslim League demanded a separate nation for the Muslims of the British Indian Empire.
A contingent of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army would take part in the Pakistan Day parade, according to Chinese Defense Spokesperson Chinese Defense Spokesperson Senior Colonel Zhang Xiaogang.
