PTI’s Shaukat Yousafzai ordered to pay ANP chief Rs150m in defamation case
A district and session court in Peshawar of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday ordered Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shaukat Yousafzai to pay Rs150 million in damages to Awami National Party (ANP) Chief Asfandyar Wali Khan in a defamation case.
Additional Session Judge Ejazur Rehman announced the verdict on the defamation case, stating that Yousafzai did not appear before the court despite notices.
It is pertinent to mention that the PTI leader had claimed that the ANP chief had sold the Pakhtuns on $25 million during the party’s government in the KP.
Khan later served a defamation notice to Yousafzai in December 19 for libelous statements without the support of any reasonable proof or justification.
