JUI-F forms alliance with PPP for Senate election
Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) on Tuesday announced to form an alliance with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) for the Senate election set for April 2.
Leaders of both parties held a joint press conference in Islamabad where they announced support for each other’s candidates.
JUI-F’s Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri said that his party will support PPP leader Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani in the Senate election.
It is pertinent to mention that JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman had earlier refused to participate in the parliamentary politics. Following his announcement, JUI-F boycotted the election for the prime minister and president of Pakistan.
PPP leader Nayyar Hussain Bukhari said that the PPP will support the JUI-F in Senate election in Balochistan.
PPP leader Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani also extended support to the JUI-F in the Senate election.
