PM Shehbaz’s 19-member cabinet takes oath
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s cabinet took oath on Monday, with many old faces returning to his team.
The oath was administered by President Asif Ali Zardari in a ceremony at the President House.
The prime minister had moved a summary containing 19 names who will be appointed as federal ministers to the president of Pakistan. Under the constitution, the president is the appointing authority for federal ministers but functions on the advice of the prime minister.
The summary seen by Aaj News indicates that the cabinet will have a total of 19 members and will include both ministers and advisors. The final portfolios will be announced in a notification.
As expected, a couple of cabinet members are given more than one ministries.

Federal ministers
- Khawaja Asif – defence and defence production
- Ahsan Iqbal – planning and development and special initiatives
- Tanveer Hussain – industries and production
- Azam Nazeer Tarar – law and human rights
- Chaudhry Salik Hussain – overseas Pakistanis and human resource development
- Jam Kamal – commerce
- Amir Muqam – states and frontier regions (Safron) and national heritage and culture
- Awais Leghari – railways
- Attaullah Tarar – information and broadcasting
- Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui – education and science and technology
- Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh – maritime affairs
- Riaz Pirzada – housing and works
- Aleem Khan – privatisation and Board of Investment
Senators as federal ministers
- Ishaq Dar – foreign affairs
- Musadik Malik – petroleum, power
Non-parliamentarian ministers
- Muhammad Aurangzeb – finance and revenue
- Ahad Cheema – economic affairs, establishment
- Mohsin Raza Naqvi – interior and narcotics control
State ministers
- Shaza Fatima Khawaja
