Chinese solar panel manufacturer Longi has developed a new “anti-dust module” for the commercial and industrial market in Australia.

Longi has introduced its new Hi-MO X6 Guardian C&I module at Sydney’s Smart Energy Conference. This technology costs a mere $0.20/watt.

The module permits the water to run freely off the surface, consequently, the dirty residue also does not build up around the edges where the frame meets the glass. Traditional framing is present on the longer side of the module.

Longi used back contact (BC) technology for the module that the company changed its Australian ranges to in 2023. BC technology benefits panel efficiencies that help to decrease shading losses.

The Chinese company has developed a residential module with the same self-cleaning frame theme that is to be launched in the third or fourth quarter of this year, with dimensions of about 1,722 mm x 1,134 mm.

The company also planned to commence a new Ultra Black module, with a power output of 440 W, to the residential Australian market at the end of this month. The new module with use fingerprint technology to handle installers without marking.

Longi Green Energy Technology is a Chinese photovoltaics company that manufactures solar modules and solar power projects.

Last month, China launched a tiny battery that could power phones for decades without recharge.
