Gandapur reiterates call for May 9 investigation after meeting with Khan

Meets Imran Khan in jail to discuss ministers in KP

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur reiterated his call for a judicial commission to investigate the events of May 9 after a meeting with Imran Khan in Adiala Jail.

Gandapur arrived to meet Khan in Adiala Jail on Tuesday where the final approval for KP’s cabinet was discussed along with general political affairs in the country.

After the meeting, Gandapur said Khan was still standing firmly and expressed hope that the PTI chairman would be released soon.

He also added appealed to the chief justice to set up the commission, adding that PTI’s workers including women were still languishing in jails.

Meena Khan Afridi, Qasim Ali Shah, Fazal Shakoor Khan, Taimu Saleem Jhagra and Mian Khaleeq ur Rehman will be part of the cabinet from Peshawar division.

Malakand’s Shafiullah, Shakeel Khan, Dr Amjad Ali, Fazal Hakeem and Riaz Khan will also receive portfolios along with Taj Muhammad and Arshad Ayub from Hazara division.

Zahir Shah Toor, Faisal Tarkai, Abdul Karim Tordher, Aqibullah will be part of the cabinet from Mardan while Zahidullah Wazir from Bannu Aftab Alam Advocate from Kohat will be part of the cabinet as well.

Gandapur was elected as the 18th chief minister of the province on Friday after securing 90 votes in the KP Assembly.

The newly-elected chief minister contested the election as an independent after the Supreme Court stripped the PTI of its electoral symbol.

While most of the PTI-backed lawmakers joined the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), Gandapur was among the few top leadership who decided against joining the SIC.
