A police personnel was killed on Friday when militants opened fire on his residence in Pir Tangi area of the Tank district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, sources in the police said.

The policeman, identified as Zahid Bettani, killed a Taliban commander and his accomplice in an exchange of fire while several were injured, they added.

However, the Bettani was also killed in the fire exchange.

According to sources, a huge contingent of the police was being deployed at the scene.
