Sindh home minister says around 10 threat alerts in Karachi
Caretaker Home Minister of Sindh Brig. (R) Haris Nawaz has said that as many as 10 threat alerts have been issued across Karachi.
Speaking at a media talk in the metropolis, he said that the mobile phone service was suspended for the safety of the citizens as the authorities have issued multiple threat alerts.
According to Nawaz, the internet services have been suspended across the country while saying that it will not have any impact on the voting process as the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) network remained active.
Meanwhile, the minister urged the citizens to cast their votes as he expected a turnout of more than 50% across the country.
It is pertinent to mention that the internet and mobile phone services were suspended during the voting process as voters complained of facing communication problems due to an outage.
“Update: Real-time network data show that internet blackouts are now in effect in multiple regions of Pakistan in addition to mobile network disruptions,” the NetBlocks said in a post on X.
