The Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) on Wednesday warned against indulging in violence in the name of political activity and sabotaging the conduct of free and fair elections, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir presided over the 262nd CCC at GHQ in Rawalpindi where it discussed the deployment of the Pakistan Army to assist the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in the peaceful conduct of elections 2024.

The forum reiterated that the army will perform assigned duties as per the Constitutional mandate under the guidelines of ECP, according to the ISPR.

During the conference, COAS Munir said that the country will never compromise on its sovereignty, national honour and aspirations of Pakistani people.

The forum paid rich tribute to the sacrifices of martyrs including officers and men of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies and civilians.

It resolved that terrorists, their facilitators and abettors would be dealt with the full might of the state.

COAS Munir stated that Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are sacrosanct and inviolable. The country believes in peaceful co-existence with all states, he added.

The participants of the conference were briefed on India’s campaign of extraterritorial and extrajudicial killings, perpetuating state-sponsored terrorism and targeting Pakistani citizens.

The international community has already shown serious concerns over the criminal behaviour of India and its use of state apparatus for killings around the world, it was said during the conference.

The forum reiterated support for Palestine and the people of Gaza while highlighting the fallout of the conflict and the potential to spill over in the wider region.

The CCC urged for an immediate and permanent ceasefire and an enduring solution to the Palestinian question.

The forum also reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to support the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir for their right to self-determination.

Pakistan would continue to morally, politically and diplomatically support Kashmiris till justice is served according to relevant UNSC resolutions, it was said during the conference.

The forum acknowledged and appreciated the steps taken against illegal activities and criminal mafias including smuggling, hoarding, money laundering, power theft and illegal aliens.

The participants emphasised that such actions and their positive impact on the economy and well-being of the people need to continue without any let-up.

The forum was briefed on the operational preparedness of the formations. COAS directed the formation commanders to continue their focus on the training, administration and morale of the soldiers.
