ECP bars PM Kakar from making changes in FBR
The Election Commission of Pakistan has barred caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar from making major changes in the Federal Board of Revenue.
In a letter to the PM’s principal secretary, ECP said that such major changes should only be made by an elected government.
Earlier, the federal cabinet had approved major reforms in the FBR including digitisation and reconstitution.
FBR reforms have been the subject of much discussion among government circles and have also been prominently featured in talks with the International Monetary Fund.
