Sanam Javed withdraws from election after re-arrest
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Sanam Javed has decided to drop out of the electoral race after being re-arrested in Lahore.
Javed was planning to contest elections from NA-119 in Lahore, the same constituency from where PMLN’s Maryam Nawaz is also contesting.
However, Javed’s sister, Falak, said in a video on Monday that they were putting their weight behind Shehzad Farooq in the elections. She added that Farooq’s campaign should be run as Sanam’s own.
Earlier, Javed was arrested immediately after being released on bail in an arson case.
Judge Arshad Javed Chaudhary had accepted her bail plea and ordered her release. However, she was immediately arrested and shifted to Shadman police station.
