PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has taken a swipe at his political opponent Nawaz, who is considered to be a frontrunner in the general elections on February 8.

“Those who think that they are becoming the prime minister for the fourth time are seriously mistaken,” the scion of the Bhutto dynasty told reporters at Rawalpindi’s Liaquat Bagh on Sunday. “We will give a befitting reply to those who don’t follow our Constitution.”

Bilawal has challenged Sharif to a verbal duel as presidential and prime ministerial candidates participate in televised debates.

On Saturday, he also offered some venues in Sindh when PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif advised the PPP chief that an invitation to visit Sindh would have been better than a challenge to a debate.

Bilawal, who in the recent past has advised senior politicians to retire, stated that a “political party” has been following that old politics.

He urged the people to vote for arrow – the electoral symbol of PPP – as it does not want to divide and misguide them.

“With the right use of vote you can defeat the ‘conspiracy’ to become prime minister for the fourth time,” the PPP chief said.

He claimed that the PPP could only save Pakistan amid the economic and constitutional crisis in the country.

Bilawal claimed that incarcerated PTI leader Imran Khan cannot become the prime minister.

While speaking about the security situation, he said: “There will not be any good or bad Taliban. A befitting response will be given to those who take up arms against the country.”
