PTI Senator joins PPP, withdraws from election
In a blow to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Senator Saifullah Abro has joined hands with the Pakistan Peoples Party.
Abro made the decision after meeting Bilawal Bhutto Zardari at Bilawal House in Lahore on Friday.
He also withdrew his candidacy from NA-194 in favour of the PPP.
Abro was elected to the Senate in 2021 from Sindh on a PTI ticket and was supposed to remain part of the upper house till 2027.
Bilawal has steadily called on PTI voters to vote for PPP in the upcoming elections and has also hinted that he could try to form government with PTI’s candidates who are contesting as indpendents after the bat symbol.
