School director slips PPP campaign posters into students’ notebooks

School owner defends actions, says there is not enough time to campaign

A Pakistan People’s Party candidate in Karachi has kick-started his election campaign by attaching pamphlets to students’ notebooks in the school he runs. He has also been accused of pressurizing the parents to vote for him.

Malik Muhammad Hassan Khan, who is PPP’s candidate in the general elections 2024 from NA-248, is a managing director of Happy Palace School where he attached the pamphlets of his campaign in the students’ notebooks.

Khan’s father and the owner of the school, Malik Asif, believes his son’s action to be right. He believes that the way of running a campaign isn’t unlawful, as he and his son were busy providing quality education to the students, and hence don’t have time to run the campaign.

However, the parents claimed that they were being pressured to cast their vote for Hassan.

They appealed to the Election Commission of Pakistan to keep their children away from politics as they have been sending their children for education rather than participating in any campaign.

In response, Malik Asif refuted the claims, saying they did not pressure anyone to vote for Hasan.
