Javed Hashmi claims house raided, family members arrested
Veteran politican Javed Hashmi claimed on Thursday that his house was raided by the police ahead of a workers convention and his family members arrested.
In a post on X just past midnight, Hashmi claimed that dozens of Punjab Police officials broke into his house in Makhdoom Rasheed without warrant after surrounding it.
He added that his son-in-law Shahid Bahar Hashmi and grandson Qasim Hashmi were arrested. He said that all of his servants were all also taken away.
Hashmi also posted photos of his house showing broken doors and cabinets.
Sources said that Hashmi was holding a worker’s convention at his house as his son-in-law his contesting the elections on a PTI ticket.
Zain Qureshi and Meherbano Qureshi were reportedly planning to attend the event as well.
