The dead bodies of five people killed on Monday in Karachi have been handed over to their relatives. The head of the family, identified as Syed Ahsan Raza Rizvi, had allegedly killed his three children and wife when they were sleeping and died by suicide himself.

The incident occurred in Falak Naz Apartments near Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, said police and added that the bodies of five have been shifted to the hospital for post-mortem.

The autopsy report revealed that Ahsan’s wife received a bullet in her head, and two children, six-year-old Jibrael and four-year-old Mikael, sustained two bullets each at the head and leg. The third child, Umm-e-Hani, was shot in the head which led her to death.

The woman’s family brought her body to Kalaboard while the bodies of a man and his three children were shifted to Safoora Goth.

However, when it came to investigation, the police found a 30-bore pistol and rounds on the spot. After cordoning the crime scene they initiated a probe into the matter.

They also found a file in Ahsan’s laptop carrying the last message. In the note, he said that he was taking his life after murdering his family members, as he was left with no other choice.

He also confessed that his wife and children were sleeping and they were not aware of his plan. He used a stolen pistol to kill them.

The police initially said that unemployment could be a reason that led to the incident. Police also said they were checking CCTV footage of the surroundings to ascertain more facts about the affair.
