Pakistan grab consolation win against NZ in last match
WIth the series already done and dusted, Pakistan grabbed a consolation win in a low-scoring thriller in Christchurch on Sunday.
Electing to bat first, Pakistan scored 134 for the loss of eight wickets. Muhammad Rizwan scored 38 while Fakhar Zaman made 33.
Tim Southee, Matt Henry, Lockie Ferguson and Ish Sodhi all took 2 wickets for Nw Zealand.
In response, Pakistan’s bowlers put on a clinic, bowling out New Zealand for a mere 92 runs in 17.2 overs.
Part-timer Iftikhar Ahmed grabbed 3 wickets, and Shaheen Shah Afridi and Muhammad Nawaz got 2 wickets apiece.
For New Zealand, Finn Allen made 22 runs while Glenn Phillips made 26.
The Kiwis had already wrapped up five match series after winning the first four games.
