Musilms around the world are eagerly awaiting the month of Ramadan, considered to be the most most blessed of the calendar. While the date of the beginning of the lunar month is known to be around march, a possible exact date has been announced for Saudi Arabia.

Media reports in Saudi Arabia are quoting an astronomy expert to say that the first roza could fall on March 11.

The prediction was made by Ibrahim Al Jarwan, chairman of the board of the Emirates Astronomy Society.

Jarwan has further added that summer in Saudi Arabia will begin on December 22 and end on March 20.

This means that the month of Ramadan will fall in the summer season for the first time in 26 years and will stay that way until 2031. The month will again fall in the winter season for eight years from 2031 to 2039.

The duration of each fast falls from sunrise to set, which means a different duration for each part of the world. This year the duration could be between 12 to 17 hours.

This year, each roza in Saudi Arabia is expected to be between 13 and 15 hours.

The date of beginning of the month also means that Eid-ul Fitar could fall around April 10 or 11.
