Gold price declines by Rs600/tola amid dip in international price

The price of gold declined by Rs600 and now stands at Rs217,300 per tola for January 17, compared with its previous price of Rs217,900/tola, according to the All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association.

The price of 10 grammes of gold also dipped by Rs514 to Rs186,300 as against the previous price of Rs186,814 per 10 grammes.

Similarly, the prices of 10 grammes 22 karat also went down to Rs170,775 from the earlier price of Rs171,246.

The price of per tola and 10 grammes silver remained stagnant at Rs2,650 and 2,271.94, respectively.

In the international market, gold prices declined on Tuesday, hurt by a strengthening dollar and Treasury yields, as markets wait to hear remarks from several Federal Reserve officials this week to further gauge the central bank’s monetary policy path.

Spot gold was down 0.7% at $2,041.09 per ounce, while US gold futures fell 0.3% to $2,045 per ounce.
