A 25-year-old man was killed at Karachi’s Seaview on Monday by robbers during a resistance to a robbery, said the police, adding that the dacoits managed to escape.

According to the police, Adnan had gotten married three months ago and had come to Sea View with his wife for dinner. While the couple was sitting near the coast, two gunmen on a motorbike approached them and demanded money and other valuables.

When the robbers attempted to snatch jewellery and a phone from Adnan’s wife, he became enraged and tried to resist them. The robbers opened fire, resulting in two bullets hitting his head, and he died on the spot.

In the initial inquiry, the police found that after collecting cash, jewellery, mobile phones, and all other valuable items the couple had in their possession, the robbers successfully fled from the spot.

The police had shifted the body to Jinnah Hospital Karachi for legal proceedings and postmortem, but the family refused an autopsy, and Adnan’s body was handed over to them.

The deceased was a resident of Baldia Naval colony and ran a business in Balochistan and Karachi. He was originally from Balochistan.

Police said that the First Information Report (FIR) has not yet been filed by the family. However, the police have initiated an investigation into the matter and are collecting evidence and statements from the scene. The deceased’s vehicle was shifted to the Sahil Police Station.
