Islamabad Police suspended five officials for being involved in the raid on the house of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan on Sunday.

Inspector General Akbar Nasir Khan has made DPO CIty incharge of an investigation into the matter and has asked for a report to be submitted into the matter.

In a statement, the Islamabad Police said that the police had raided a house in F-7/2 in search of a proclaimed offender but had left after being told that the house belonged to Gohar.

The statement added that five people including the SHO of the Margalla Police station have been suspended.

The PTI chairman had told Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa on Saturday during a live hearing that his house had been raided, looted and his family beaten up.

Gohar had eventually returned to the SC where the bench had upheld an ECP decision taking away the bat symbol from PTI.
