PTI announces award of party tickets, but leaves many seats vacant
The PTI announced the award of party tickets for the National Assembly seats on Friday, leaving many constituencies vacant, especially in Central Punjab.
This came on a day when one of its leaders Shafqat Mahmood decided to withdraw his nomination papers. In a post on X, Mahmood announced that he has decided to withdraw from the election and not to become a candidate from any constituency.
The former ruling party has also fielded candidates in the constituencies of Sheikh Rasheed and his nephew Rashid Shafiq in Rawalpindi. Earlier, the party announced the award of tickets for NA and provincial assembly seats.
Below is the list of candidates contesting elections from different seats:
Note: Kamal Khan Advocate has been awarded the ticket in case Saeed fails to contest polls.
Moreover, Aamir Masood Mughal, Shoaib Shaheen, and Ali Bukhari have been awarded tickets for three seats each in Islamabad.
