Sindh’s Excise and Taxation department has extended the deadline for biometric registration of vehicles in the province.

The date has now been moved forward from December 31, 2023 to February 1, 2024.

The department has clarified that action will be taken against people whose vehicles remain unregistered after the deadline.

The biometric verification scheme was announced in January this year after an agreement was signed between the Excise department, NADRA and Anti-Narcotics Force.

THe measure hopes to discourage vehicles operating without transfer or running on open letters
