The Pakistan cricket team presented some gifts to Australian players and their families on Sunday as Christians around the world celebrate Christmas.

A video of the national team skipper Shan Masood and a team staff member on X, erstwhile Twitter, shows they went to the Melbourne Cricket Ground nets where Australian players were practicing for the second Test match. ODI World Cup winning captain Pat Cummins was also seen in the video.

The video was posted by Australian sports journalist Daniel Cherny.

Pakistan is in Australia to play the three-Test series. The hosts thrashed the visitors in the Perth Test, with pace spearheads Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood all coming through unscathed.

“Warm wishes and heartfelt gifts for the Australian players and their families at the MCG indoor nets,” the PCB said in an Instagram post.

“That was just great. Just Merry Christmas gifts and lollipops for the kids. So that was great. We’ve got a good relationship with the Pakistan side. That tour a couple of years ago was really special as well. So really kind and thoughtful of their group to think of us,” captain Pat Cummins told ESPN Australia & NZ.

Babar Azam and some of the other players were also seen talking with the Australian players.

The second Test would start on Tuesday in Melbourne. Pakistan have named a 12-man squad with Sarfaraz Ahmed and speedster Faheem Ashraf axed.

Australia have named an unchanged XI for the Boxing Day Test as they look to seal the series against Pakistan.
