A PPP leader arrived at the South District DC Office in Karachi on a donkey cart to submit his nomination papers on Sunday, as the filing of the document necessary to contest general elections picks momentum.

He was Javed Nagori, the PPP Karachi Division general secretary. Supporters of the party chanted slogans when he arrived at the office.

The Election Commission of Pakistan’s deadline for filing nomination papers for the February 8 general election expires on Sunday (today).

Pakistan is set to hold general elections on February 8.

Returning officers will examine the nomination papers from Dec 25 to Dec 30, as specified in the schedule.
