Amid the cold wave in the country, Karachi city has also been experiencing cold weather since last week. Chilly winds from Quetta have decreased the mercury level to 11.5 degrees Celsius, said the Pakistan Metrologies Department (PMD) on Thursday.

The Met Office predicted a further increase in the cold wave in the upcoming month of January.

However, the forecast for today indicates that the weather will remain cool and dry throughout the day, while the maximum temperature is expected to touch 13 degrees Celsius in the afternoon.

The winds are blowing at a speed of four kilometres per hour with a 49 per cent humidity level.

Talking about the other cities of Sindh the Met Office predicted that besides low temperature, some areas including Jaccobabad, Mohenjo Daro, Sukkar, Larkana, Dado, Gothki, and Padidan will witness smog and fog.

Additionally, in Mohenjo Daro the mercury is anticipated to go down to three degrees Celsius.
