PPP, PMLN and IPP to become parties in appeal against LHC decision on ROs
Multiple political parties have decided to become parties in the appeals against a Lahore High Court decision to suspend the appointment of returning officers for the upcoming general elections.
Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz decided on Friday that it would approach courts to ensure elections are not delayed.
Marriyum Aurangzeb said in a statement that Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif had given the green signal for the decision and the party’s lawyers had begun their preparations in the case.
On the other hand, Istehkam-e-Pakistan party’s general secretary Awn Chaudhry said on Friday confirmed that Jahangir Tareen had approved the decision to become a party in the case.
Pakistan Peoples Party sources also said on Friday that Asif Zardari had given a go-ahead signal to become a party in the case.
