Additional General Secretary of PTI Balochistan Alam Kakar on Friday claimed that party spokesperson Shoaib Shaheen was barred from participating in workers convention in Balochistan and was sent back to Lahore.

According to Kakar, the PTI leader arrived at Quetta airport to attend party gatherings in Harnai , Zhob and Pishin cities of the province.

However, he said that the authorities gave Shaheen the option of either arresting him under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order or he could return to Lahore.

Earlier, Shaheen announced that he was going to Quetta to attend workers convention.

“PTI and Imran khan is the symbol of federation and deserve to be respected by all concerned to uphold the Constitution, Law and Democracy,” he wrote in a post on X.

A day earlier, PTI Senior Vice President Sher Afzal Marwat was taken into custody in Lahore by police after addressing the bar association, the party said.

Video footage showed lawyers trying to rescue him as policemen dragged him to the police vehicle. He was arrested in GPO Chowk, Lahore.
