Judicial Commission approves Justice Aqeel Abbasi as new CJ Sindh High Court
The Judicial Commission approved the appointment of Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi as the chief justice of the Sindh High Court on Monday.
The Judicial Commission meeting on Monday was chaired by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa. The members of the Commission unanimously approved the appointment of Justice Abbasi.
The Commission’s recommendation will now be sent to a parliamentary committee for final approval.
Justice Abbasi has been serving as the acting CJ of the of Sindh High Court since November 3.
He was born in 1963 and started practicing law in the district courts in 1990, Sindh High Court in 1992 and Supreme Court in 2006.
He was elevated to the Sindh High Court as a judge in 2008.
