Two Indian air force pilots killed in aircraft crash

Two pilots of the Indian Air Force were killed on Monday when their Pilatus trainer aircraft crashed during training at the Air Force Academy in Dundigal in Telangana.

“One Pilatus PC 7 Mk Il trainer aircraft met with an accident today morning during a routine training sortie from AFA, Hyderabad. It is with deep regret that (the) IAF confirms that both the pilots on board have sustained fatal injuries,” the IAF said in a statement.

According to the Indian media, the aircraft had taken off from Air Force Academy (AFA) at Hyderabad for routine training when the accident occurred, Indian Air Force officials said.

The officials said that the killed pilots included an instructor and a cadet. A probe has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the accident.
