Justice Mazahar Naqvi challenges SJC’s show-cause notices

Justice Mazahar Naqvi has requested to run the trial in the open court.

Justice Mazahar Naqvi of the Supreme Court challenged the proceedings of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) in the Supreme Court.

Justice Mazahar Naqvi has challenged both the show causes and requested to run the case in the open court.

It is pertinent to mention that Justice Mazahar Naqvi has been accused of having assets beyond known sources of income and violating the code of conduct, and the Supreme Judicial Council issued a show-cause notice to him.

In the petition, the federal government, the President, and the SJC have been made parties and it has been said that before issuing the second show cause, it was necessary to decide the objections to the Supreme Judicial Council.

Earlier, Justice Mazahar Naqvi had also challenged the proceedings of the Supreme Judicial Council and approached the Supreme Court against the proceedings.

In his petition, he had sought quashing of the proceedings of the Supreme Judicial Council and declaring the notice received for the proceedings as illegal.
