A policeman was shot and killed by unknown assailants in Bannu on Wednesday.

The police official, identified as Ashraf Khan, was on his way to work when unknown men on a motorcycle fired at him. He was heading for duty with a polio vaccination team on Mandan road.

The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Mandan police station.

The attackers managed to flee the scene after the shooting and have still not been apprehended.

Police have shifted the deceased official’s body to DHQ Bannu.
