PPP to hold its foundation day celebrations in Quetta to woo allies
PPP Information Secretary Faisal Karim Kundi has said that the party will hold its foundation day celebrations in Quetta city of Balochistan.
“Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will be PPP’s candidate for the post of next prime minister. We will form the next government with the help of our allies,” he told a press conference in Islamabad on Tuesday.
Kundi said that his party will contest elections on its manifesto and will form alliances with other parties after the general polls scheduled in February next year.
Taking a jibe at their former ally, the PPP leader said that PML-N is claiming to win 120 seats of the National Assembly despite failing to win significant seats in the by-elections in Punjab during the previous government of PDM.
“Out of the 20 provincial seats in Punjab, the PML-N managed to win only one seat. Now the N-league is claiming that it will win 120 seats,” he added.
Kundi alleged that the PML-N had always brought institutions into politics, saying that the party is doing the same by giving the impression that the institutions are siding with them.
“They are creating such an impression so other parties begin criticising the institutions and the PML-N is selected,” he added.
According to him, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has left his “vote ko izzat do” narrative at Avenfield House in London and attempting to become the “blued-eye boy of institutions”.
