Four of a family killed in DI Khan over family feud

Heavy contingent of police arrive at crime scene

At least four members of a family were allegedly killed over a family feud in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Dera Ismail Khan on Tuesday, police said.

While explaining the incident, they said that a husband killed her wife in the city, prompting the victim’s brother to avenge the murder by killing her sister’s mother-in-law, father-in-law, and sister-in-law.

A heavy contingent of police was deployed at the crime scene in the Rehmani Khel area, which falls in the jurisdiction of the Paniala Police Station.

According to police, the woman killed by her husband was pregnant. They added that the alleged killer, who was identified as Toofan, was an absconding accused in different cases.

“A first information report will be registered after a post-mortem examination of the bodies,” DSP Kashif Sattar told Aaj News.

Police have claimed to have set up checkpoints at different locations to arrest the suspects.

The alleged murder was reported a day after a girl was allegedly killed on a local jirga’s order because she had appeared in a picture on social media in the province’s Kohistan district. But according to DSP Mukhtiar Ahmed, the victim was killed on the orders of her family.
