Balochistan govt decides to investigate Turbat incident after protest
Balochistan government has decided to investigate the killing of four alleged terrorists at the hands of the Counter Terrorism Department earlier this month, sources said on Tuesday.
The sources said that the government has set up an inquiry tribunal that will investigate the matter and submit a report within two weeks.
The report will be led by Secretary Fisheries Imran Gichki and will include DIG Quetta, SSP Gwadar and DC Kech.
The report’s recommendations will be implemented by the provincial ministry of interior.
Protestors have staged a sit-in against the killing of the four men byt CTD and have been demanding an investigation into the incident.
The protest was begun by the family of one of the men killed in the incident, named Balaj. However, other members of the civil society also joined the protest.
Balaj’s family had claimed that he had gone ‘missing’ from his home on October 29. They claimed that he had even been presented in court on November 21 but was killed by the CTD two days later.
