PM Kakar wishes Sikh community on 554th birthday of Baba Guru Nanak
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar on Sunday conveyed warm wishes to the Sikh community on the 554th birthday of Baba Guru Nanak.
“Warmest wishes to the Sikh community in Pakistan and worldwide as you celebrate the 554th birthday of baba Guru Nanak,” the prime minister wrote on X.
He said Guru Nanak’s teachings of love, peace, and equality were truly inspiring.
Earlier, a 39-member delegation of Sikh pilgrims, who are in Pakistan to attend the birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak, met Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab Mohsin Naqvi.
CM Naqvi noted down the proposals and recommendations of the Sikh pilgrims during the meeting and assured them of their early implementation.
Provincial Minister for Auqaf Azfar Ali Nasir and the additional chief secretary will visit Nankana Sahib for the birth anniversary celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak while construction and restoration of the ancient Gurdwara and old buildings will also be carried out.
The CM and IG Police assured the Sikh pilgrims coming from Canada and other European countries to resolve visa and other issues.
Delegation leader Gayan Singh Gill while commending the quality of Pakistani sugar, said that the product could be sold in Canada in huge quantities.
He said Pakistan had an excellent opportunity to promote its business with Canada.
