What law in Pakistan exempts govt officers for not wearing helmet?
A post on X went viral recently regarding a government official’s refusal to wear a helmet.
In a viral video, a man can be seen clearly outraged that the police were holding him responsible for not wearing a helmet.
He argued with the police and said, “I am a 21st-grade law officer; why should I wear a helmet?” The incident has seriously raised questions regarding the compliance of public servants with laws and regulations.
The government’s inability to adequately enforce helmet usage has led to an increase in the number of registered challans in a country where accidents are rampant.
The incident has sparked discussions about Pakistan’s governance and accountability and most had opinions that such kind of behavior of privileged individuals can still get away with it in Pakistan.
