The first information report was filed after three foetuses were found in jars at a garbage dump in Block J of Karachi’s North Nazimabad a day earlier.

The citizen Hamad Uddin, who found the jars, filed the FIR at the Shahrah-e-Noor Jahan police station on Sunday.

The FIR invoked Section 338-C (Punishment for Isqat-i-janin), Section 109 (Punishment of abetment if the Act abetted committed In consequence and where no express provision is made for its punishment), and Section 34 (Acts done by several persons In furtherance of common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The plaintiff in his report said that he found three foetuses in jars, upon which he called on the emergency line of the Chhipa Welfare Association.

He alleged that the unidentified suspects with the illegal compliance of hospital doctors aborted the birth of the babies and left them at the garbage dump.

He requested the authorities to initiate a legal process against the suspects.

A police official said that they have begun investigating the matter. He suspected that foetuses might have been thrown in the garbage dump by a medical institute.

The police are obtaining the footage from the nearby CCTV cameras, he added.
