Asad Qaiser sent on judicial remand
A judicial magistrate in Islamabad ordered senior PTI leader Asad Qaiser to send prison on Saturday, who was arrested a day earlier.
The court ordered to send Asad Qaiser to prison after which Islamabad Police shifted him to Rawalpindi’s Adiala jail.
Earlier, an Anti-Corruption Establishment Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s team had taken the former speaker of the National Assembly into custody over embezzlement charges.
The magistrate, Qudratullah, also directed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s top anti-graft department to complete the legal requirements within a week.
On Friday, Qaiser was shifted to Bani Gala Police Station for further interrogation in connection with his alleged involvement in a corruption scandal of Gajju Khan Medical College, Swabi.
Last week, Qaiser and Ali Muhammad Khan held a meeting with JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to condole with him on the sad demise of his mother-in-law while also discussing the prevailing political situation in the country.
