Shahzad Shaukat, from the Asma Jahangir Lawyer’s Group, was elected the president of the Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan after securing the majority of votes in the elections.

Shaukat bagged 611 votes while Mian Abdul Quddus came second as he secured 462 votes in the annual elections for the president of the association.

Munizae Jahangir, daughter of Asma Jahangir, congratulated Shaukat on winning the SCBA elections while hoping that he would raise his voice for the civilians being tried in the military courts.
