Transgender person injured in Swat firing
A transgender person was injured in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Swat district on Sunday when a man allegedly opened fire at the victim, the police said.
The victim, Bablu, was shot by the suspect, Aqeel, after the former allegedly arrived at the latter’s house despite forbidding them to arrive at the house in the district’s Sirsinai area, Kabal DSP Syed Habib Shah told Aaj News. The suspect and victim were friends.
The police have arrested the suspect and registered a complaint against him for attempting to murder while the victim has been moved to Kabal hospital.
In August this year, a transgender person was wounded when two other transgender persons allegedly opened fire on her in the Kuchi Bazar area of Peshawar.
According to media reports, many of such crimes were attributed to disputes arising from personal relationships.
