Police baton charge protesters at Karachi’s Numaish Chowrangi
Karachi police on Saturday resorted to baton charge after residents of Lines Area blocked the road near Karachi’s Numaish Chowrangi against the power shut down.
The roads around Numaish Chowrangi were choked as commuters were stranded due to the blockade.
The protesters had come on the main road and protested against the hours-long unannounced load shedding. Women and children were also present in the protest.
They had blocked the road from Numaish to Taj Complex which also disturbed the traffic flow on the M.A. Jinnah Road.
Later, the police arrived at the scene and resorted to baton-charge, after which the protesters cleared the road and gathered on the side of the road.
