The Khyber Medical University in Peshawar on Tuesday announced to conduct the entry test for admission to medical and dental colleges on November 26.

The KUM will ask for security from the Federal Investigation Agency and police to conduct the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) examination, a statement by the KMU said.

The test was canceled by the provincial cabinet of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after the authorities unearthed a cheating scandal involving Bluetooth devices.

The KMU said that around 46,658 aspirants have registered for the test scheduled to be held next month. The KMU has canceled the registration of 219 aspirants who were found to have used Bluetooth devices during their test.

It is pertinent to mention that the varsity imposed a two-year ban on 219 students who were involved in malpractice during the MDCAT exam held on September 10.

The examination became controversial after provincial authorities in KP foiled a cheating scheme during the MDCAT exams.

Secretary of Higher Education Aneela Mahfooz Durrani busted a cheating scheme involving cutting-edge technology in KP as the officials apprehended dozens of students attempting to use covert Bluetooth devices for cheating.

The attempt was uncovered after officials received a tip-off that a group of people were planning to manipulate the entrance test by allegedly using hidden Bluetooth devices to transmit answers to students who had paid them.
