MDCAT Scandal: University imposes two-years ban on students involved in cheating

Khyber Medical University has said in the statement issued regarding the ban on students that those students will be banned from giving MD CAT for two years.

In a significant development, Khyber Medical University has taken a strict stance against cheating in the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT ) examination.

Following a shocking cheating scandal during the MDCAT exam held on September 10th, the university has imposed a two-year ban on 219 students who were involved in the malpractice.

Khyber Medical University has said in the statement issued regarding the ban on students that those students will be banned from giving MD CAT for two years.

The statement said that the ban on the students has been imposed in the light of the detailed report of ETA. The university’s decision to suspend these 219 students from taking the MD exams for two years serves as a strong deterrent against academic dishonesty. It is intended to ensure that students understand the consequences of engaging in such unethical behavior.

It should be noted that the MD CAT exams were held on September 10 this year, in which students were caught copying through Bluetooth devices and other means in various centres.

In response to the alarming number of cheating cases, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet swiftly decided to cancel the MDCAT Examination 2023.
