Rupee’s 28-day winning streak ends at interbank market

The dollar recorded minor gains on Tuesday ending the 28-day winning streak of the rupee at the interbank foreign exchange market.

The greenback gained 20 paisas to reach Rs277.03 at the closing of the interbank, as against the closing of Rs276.83 the previous day.

The rupee weakened in the later trading session after gaining Rs1.26 against the foreign currency in the intraday trading.

Similarly, the Pakistan Stock Exchange also closed in a red zone as the benchmark KSE-100 Index shed 200.34 points or 0.40% to reach 49,531.01 at the closing of the trading session.

During midday trading, the Index gained 80 points to reach 49,810 points, however, it failed to maintain the positive momentum throughout the session.
